Bournemouth a Seaside Resort

Bournemouth a Seaside Resort

Located in the county of Dorset on the south coast of England is the lovely seaside resort of Bournemouth. It is very popular with pensioners and has lots of residential care homes because it offers constant and warm weather. However it still has vibrant nightlife and activities like water sports. There is a lot to do and see here.
The Tourist Information Office is located in Bournemouth’s open space known as the Square. Here you will also find the main gardens and you can easily get to the pier. The main shopping area is found northward from the Square. Old Christchurch Road is the start of the main shopping area. West Cliff is the cliff top, seafront area which overlooks the Square. Further on toward the west is Westbourne which is an area of boutiques and cafes. Lower Parkstone is an area of specialty shops and trendy eateries.
Russell-Coates Art Gallery and Museum can be found on the Eastcliff. Here you can see wonderful collections of 19th century art and Japanese artefacts. The interior of the museum is most lavishly decorated.
The author of “Frankenstein” Mary Shelly is buried in the churchyard of St. Peter’s Church along with the heart of her husband the Romantic poet, Percy Bysshe Shelly.
Bournemouth Hebrew Congregation built in 1905 has an incredible contemporary Art Nouveau take on the Moorish Revival style.
Bournemouth Pier also has a theatre.
The award-winning park Central Gardens is a nice place to explore.
Bournemouth International Centre is the place in town which hosts conferences and is the largest music venue.
Boscombe Surf Reef is Europe’s first artificial surfing reef. Cheap hostels are also available to stay.
Take the time to explore the Chines which are a series of picturesque ravines in the cliff. You can combine the exploration with a walk along the seafront.
For family fun there’s Amusements a large arcade, slot machine and entertainment centre.
You can find accommodations fit any budget. Russell Court is a cheap hotel which is close to the beach.
Travelodge offers budget accommodations just book in advance.
The Chine Hotel offers comfortable accommodations with leisure facilities and a choice of dining. There are sea and garden views available and it is within easy access to the beach.
